st marys hospital starbucks union house
St Mary's Coffee shop was a large scale project which involved closing and existing restaurant on the first floor of the hospital and converting a ground floor x-ray ward into a coffee shop. The strip out for this project included removal of all redundant hospital services to this area with a complete fit out from shell to a turnkey development.
The new design included forming a new kitchen and vending area separate from the coffee shop, security shutters, complete rewire of new services, new servery counter, back counter, back of house floor finishes, furniture, light fittings, internal decoration, decorative timber/glass screens, a full holding/prep kitchen fit out, retail display units, 3 different types of floor finish, furniture and an internal/external signage package. As part of the new concept planning permission was also granted and works carried out to install and external entrance door for customers to access the coffee shop direct from the street.
The offer developed was a Union House Starbucks brand with comfortable versatile seating. As a central London based development the flow of the counter was designed to accept customers who wanted hot food or just a takeaway coffee and set up to accept large traffic flows at peak hours.
